Natallya K.
New York, NY
“I started off exhausted and overwhelmed. By the end of the session my pain was lighter, the stress in my chest was gone, and I was feeling comfortable in my own body again. It was the first time I ended an appointment feeling more rested than when I arrived.”

Sora S.
Virginia Beach, VA
“Receiving medical Reiki before a procedure made a bigger difference than I expected. My heart rate settled, my breathing steadied, and the fear I’d been carrying around all week calmed. It felt like someone was caring for my nervous system, not just my symptoms.”

Alena D.
Birmingham, AL

Dustin W.
Orlando, FL
“What surprised me most about medical Reiki was how quickly my mind quieted. Within minutes I noticed less racing thoughts, I was breathing easier, and a deep sense of peace came over me... My sessions changed how I felt moving through this very painful and stressful process.”

Darnell C.
Arvada, CO
“After surgery, the medications and hospital stress left me wired and I couldn't sleep. Reiki really helped my body relax. My pain eased, my fatigue felt less crushing, and I woke from each session calm instead of on edge.”
The Body's Response
Understanding the Body’s Response to Restorative Reiki Care
During a Reiki session, many people experience a shift into a calmer, more settled state. Reiki is a gentle complementary practice often associated with relaxation and may help support the body’s natural rest-and-restore response.
Calmer Breathing
As the body relaxes, breathing may begin to feel slower, softer, and more natural.
Less Physical Tension
Clients often notice a release of tightness in the shoulders, jaw, chest, or stomach as they settle into the session.
Deep Rest
Some people feel so relaxed that they drift into a meditative state or light sleep during Reiki.
A Sense of Grounding
Sessions may leave you feeling more present, steady, and connected to your body.
Nervous System Support
Research has explored Reiki’s association with parasympathetic activity, the part of the nervous system linked to rest and restoration.
Quieting the Mind
Many clients describe a calmer mental state with less internal noise, stress, or emotional overload.
Reiki is often used as a complementary wellness practice for stress support. Studies have examined its potential to reduce perceived stress and anxiety while supporting a greater sense of emotional calm.
Reduced Stress
Sessions may help ease the feeling of being overwhelmed or constantly “on.”
Emotional Balance
Reiki can create space for steadiness, reflection, and a more settled emotional state.
Inner Quiet
Some people notice less mental chatter and a stronger sense of ease during and after a session.
Gentle Reset
Even one session can feel like a pause that helps the body and mind regroup.
Increased Ease Post Session
Clients often leave feeling lighter, calmer, and more emotionally supported.
Supportive Complement
Reiki is best understood as a complementary practice that can sit alongside a broader wellness routine.
Every Reiki session feels a little different, but many people notice physical sensations that reflect relaxation and increased body awareness. Individual experiences vary, and not everyone feels the same things
Warmth
You may notice areas of warmth or comfort where the body begins to soften.
Heaviness or Lightness
Some people feel deeply grounded and heavy, while others feel light and open.
Tingling Sensation
Subtle tingling or energetic movement may be noticed during parts of the session.
Sleepiness
It is common to feel drowsy as the body moves into a more restful state.
Increased Body Awareness
Reiki can help people tune into areas of tension, fatigue, or emotional holding with greater clarity.
Post-Session Calm
Afterward, many people report feeling peaceful, clear, and better able to settle into the rest of their day.
Reiki is often chosen as part of a broader self-care or healing routine. Reviews have explored its potential to support relaxation, comfort, and quality of life when used as a complementary practice.
Restoration
Sessions can offer a dedicated space for your body and mind to slow down and recover.
Support During Stressful Seasons
Reiki may be especially supportive during periods of change, burnout, caregiving, or emotional strain.
A Complement to Care
Many people incorporate Reiki into a larger plan for rest, reflection, and whole-person well-being.
Consistent Support
Over time, regular sessions may help reinforce a rhythm of calm, regulation, and self-awareness.
Whole Person Experience
Reiki is often valued not for one single effect, but for the way it supports the person as a whole.
Gentle, Non-Invasive Care
Its gentle nature is one reason many people choose Reiki as part of an ongoing wellness practice.

Frequently Asked Questions About
Medical Reiki
Have Questions?

Is Reiki safe alongside medical treatments?
Yes. Reiki is a complementary therapy and is intended to work alongside your existing medical care. It does not diagnose, treat, or replace medical or psychological treatment. Many clients seek sessions while under the care of physicians, specialists, or therapists. My work remains within professional scope and respects your broader care team.
How does Reiki support the body?
Reiki is associated with activation of the parasympathetic nervous system, the body’s rest-and-repair state. When the nervous system shifts out of chronic stress response, the body can redirect energy toward regulation, recovery, and restoration. Sessions are structured to support this physiological settling.
What happens during a session?
Sessions are conducted via Zoom. You remain fully clothed in a comfortable position in your own space. We begin with a brief, structured check-in, followed by approximately 45–50 minutes of Reiki. A short integration conversation closes the session. There is no requirement to speak during the energy portion unless you choose to.
Can Reiki help with chronic illness or autoimmune conditions?
Reiki does not cure or treat medical conditions. However, reducing physiological stress and improving nervous system regulation may support overall wellbeing. Many individuals managing chronic illness seek complementary therapies that focus on calming systemic stress response.
How many sessions are recommended?
This depends on your goals and current stress load. Some clients book a single session for acute stress support. Others choose a short series (3–6 sessions) to encourage more consistent nervous system regulation. We can determine a structure that feels clinically appropriate for you.
Evidence suggests Reiki can improve comfort and quality of life — while remaining low‑risk and non‑invasive.
Up to 68% of participants in Reiki trials showed meaningful reductions in stress or anxiety compared with control groups.
Meta‑analysis of 661 people found improved quality‑of‑life with Reiki versus control.
